a wonderful 'escape vacation'. I'm so glad we

Quotes
from our guests:
|
When skiing at Whistler
it could not be neater,
than being a guest
of Erika and Peter.
The treatment is regal
your wishes attended,
from Schmarren to Strudel
'till the day is ended.
They show you the mountain
come with you to ski
and point out the other parts
your eye ought to see.
And now we are leaving
wir muessen nun geh'n
(but we shall return)
and have, "voller Freude"
a fine Wiedersehn.

A Canadian Christmas was our
dream last year,
A holiday of snow, and Canadian-style cheer.
We longed to escape the red Georgia slay
And celebrate Christmas skiing all day.
We booked all the flights,
the lessons, and skiis.
We took loads of vitamins (lest we all sneeze).
One problem remained: Where to stay when we
we're there.
We searched and researched, till we pulled out
our hair.
Then Mandy read of a
beautiful chalet.
With our a family that seemed to go out of their
way.
To make sure their guests every need was
addressed,
From the very first call we were duly impressed.
It seemed to be perfect for
our Christmas stay.
We called to book rooms - They were vacant!
Hooray!!
We packed all our bags and we boarded our
flight.
And finally arrived late Saturday night.
The Durlacher's greeted us
right at the door,
Introductions for all and a tour of each floor.
Our room was immaculate, warm, bright, and cozy
Perfect for us (we were tired and quite dozy).
The breakfast next day was a
joy to behold,
Full of wonderful treats to help us face the
cold.
We gobbled it us and then made our way,
To the slopes where we skied and we sledded all
day.
And when we returned in the
midst of the snowing,
The lights were all on and the fire was glowing.
The tired and the cold were left out in the
gloom
Washed out by the Christmas tree's glow in the
room.
Our holiday needless to say
was first rate.
(We even got to admire the new gate.)
We'll always cherish and remember with glee
The good times we had in Whistler, B.C.
|

...despite its sophistication,
Durlacher Hof retains a
warm extended family atmosphere...
|

..I heard a cacophony of
crunching-like an orchestra entirely of castanets.
The explanation was in the breakfast room, where
several tables of skiers were munching on Erika's
breakfast special "the sound of Muesli"
